  Srimate Ramanujaya Namaha
Regarding the flowers  to be offered ,one can recollect the conversation in Sri Vaishnava sampradayam between Sri Parashara Bhatta & Sri Nanjeeyer.
Sri Nanjeeyer:When the shastras forbid offering of thorny flowers to the lord, how can the seer say that any flower will do for offering?

Sri Bhatta:The shastras have forbidden some flowers not because they are not good for the lord, but for the reason that devotee may hurt his finger while plucking the thorny flower.
How convinsing?
