Dear friend:

You are right. Thanks for your very insightful questions.

If you read the article carefully, you will notice that a Saamyam between Vedas
and Desika Stotras was pointed out.

The Vedas are like a Supermarket where everything on Dharma, Artha, Kaama and
Moksha are enshrined. Specific portions are said to confer specific benefits.
Similarly, the Desika Stotras contain elements of granting different benefits.

It is left to the individual seeker to resort to any specific text to gain any
specific result. Some may choose other benefits and the Vedas and the Stotras
provide for every desire; As for a Prapanna, he/she will choose Moksha and
Paramaikantins may not choose to ask for even Moksham.

Yet, even if one does not desire anything in particular, the very Parayanam of
Vedas / Stotras in a spirit of nishkaamya karma as Bhagavad arpanam, will
inevitably result in certain auspicious benefits (in this case, Bhagavad
Preethyartham).

In fact, you can see in the Phala sruthi of Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam, what all
benefits would accrue and to whom by reciting the Sahasranamam.

You will notice that the posting on the subject also points to the fact that
Paramaikantins do not and will not propitiate any anya devatas, while referring
to Navagrahas.

Hope this clarifies. If you desire to continue this discussion, please write to
me in private to Ramanbil@xxxx, since I do not wish to clutter the mail box of
members and make "Sri Ranga Sri" a discussion group.

sri:
Humble pranams to all Devotees.

adiyEn has a humble question, adiyEn hopes to get some clarification on this
matter.

Swami Desikan has contributed tremendously to our sampradayam,
we all already know about this, but Qs from your mail :

1. Is it ok for a Sri Vaishnava, who by the divine grace of the Lord is in the
prapatti marga
to seek Phalan (Apart from Kainkariyam).

2. Is it acceptable as per your Acharyas to:
To do something "from our side" and in exchange seek benefits from the LORD.

>Part 1: What is so great about Swami Desika?s Stotras?
>================================================================
>found incorporated a ?Phala Sruthi? detailing the benefits that would accrue
>on reciting the particular Stotra.

The intent and goal of the PhalaStruti also found in Prabhandams and Vedas are
another issue which we can get into in a differrent thread.
