Sri RAmajayam SrimathE GOpAla DEsika MahA DEsikAya Namaha Dear Bhagavathas, As SatakOpan Maama has already responded to this posting, AdiyEn would like to respond to just one part that got left out. > >> 3. I heard that ladies who have had bharanyasam > do not > >> go for sumangali prarthanais in a home with > different > >> gotram - is it true ? is there any basis for it. A Vaidhika Brahmin does not partake para annam. Para annam is detailed well in AhAra Niyamam well. For women of Vaidhika nishtai, they additionally do not partake food if it is cooked or served by women of other Gothram. But if the food is cooked & served by DinAcharya purusha of other Gothram, it is still deemed fit. AdiyEn observed this at our Asramam and asked the same question (when the Devigal of a Sri Vaishnava DinAcharya did not partake in TadiyAradhanam at the Asramam whereas her Swami who is known as a great scholar/DinAcharya had partaken the prasAdham) AdiyEn Sri RAmAnuja DAsan, Sudarsana DAsOsmi --- Sadagopan <sgopan@xxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Sadagopan" <sgopan@xxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: <Oppiliappan@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Monday, May 09, 2005 4:39 PM > Subject: Re: [Oppiliappan] Sumangali Prarthanai > > > > Dear Srimathi Yamini Suresh : > > > > Sumangali PrArthana is a prayer to Sumangalis > > by Sumangalis prior to an auspicious celebration > > and Vaidhika Karma and especially an event with > > special relationship to Ladies ( Pumsavanam , > > SeemanthOnnayanam and VivAham) .
