SrI: SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah: Dearest all, Let us continue to enjoy AzhwArs wonderful verses on ThiruvEnkatam. Today?s ThiruvEnkatam verse is: NammAzhwAr?s Thiruvaaymozhi 6.10.11 `adikkee zhamarndhu pugundhadiyeer! vaazhmin' enRen RaruLkotukkum padikkE zhillaap perumaanaip pazhanak kurukoorch chadagOpan, mudippaan sonna aayiraththuth thiruvENG kadaththuk kivaipaththum, pidiththaar pidiththaar veeRRirundhu periya vaanuL nilaavuvarE. 6.10.11 ThiruvEnkadamudaiyaan shows His Feet to His BhakthAs by pointing His right Hand down and asks them to surrender at His Feet for their redemption. About that peerless, unparallelled Supreme Lord, Srinivasa, and in praise of Him, Sri SadagOpa has sung 1000 pAsurams. Out of those 1000, these ten are on ThiruvEnkadam. Those who read these ten are DEFINITE TO STAY AT THE ETERNAL [EVER PERMANENT] PARAMAPADHAM. Nacha punaraavartthathE.. nacha punaraavartthathE.. DramidOpanishad Thaatparya RathnAvaLi of Swamy Desikan mentions that: [about this decad]: (1) Vekataadri being the saviour of Akinchanyars [helpless ones] is SarvalOka SaraNyan; as He (a) protects everything by retention of the world and beings in His stomach during Dissolution [mahApraLayam]; (b) has Sudharsana ChakrA which is deterrent to enemies (c) He is of the nature ? full of mercy unbiased like rain bearing clouds; (d) He enjoys constant never ever separated ?nithya yoga? of PiraaTTi MahAlakshmi [nithya anapaayinee] (e) He overpowered the bulls and gained asrithars? confidence in Him; (f) He is standing gracefully at Venkataadhri enabling even Nithyasuris to worship Him therein; (g) He is at Thirumalai for everyone [irrespective of caste creed, sex and race] without distinction to take refuge in His lotus feet; (h) He is amenable to His devotees and Saranagathars and unavailable to others; (i) He is in samslEsha with Sri Mahalskhmi who Herself is the refuge for all;(j) He is full of innumerable most auspicious kalyANa guNAs like Sowlabhyam sowlseelya, Vathsalya etc.. Thus In Taatparya RathnAvaLi, Swami Desikan captures in his inimitable style the essence of these 10 paasurams dealing with SaraNAgathi at the sacred feet of the Lord of the seven hills. He concludes that Azhwar assessed that Sri VenkatEsan is the most appropriate one to receive his saraNAgathi and then performed it. The last two lines of this summary of Swami Desikan is as follows : prApyA prApyathva yogAth svajana vijanayO: sath prapatthavya bhaavAth uchE naatham SaraNyam sruthisatha vidhitham VenkatEsam SatAri: The last line describes NammAzhwAr performing SaraNAgathi to his Lord VenakatEsan , who is understood well by the VedAs. The first line refers to his being near to His BhakthAs and AsrithAs ( svajana prApyathvAth ) and being far away from bhaktha dhvEshis ( vijana aprApyathvAth ). References here are to the Paasura vAkyams: vandhAy pOl vArAyi and vandhAyi polE vArAthAi " Finally, Swami Desikan connects " AhalahillEn " part of the paasuram with "Sath prapatthavya bhAvAth ". He salutes the Vaatsalya , SwAmithva , Souseelya , SoulabhyAdhi guNams of Periya Piratti that are shared by Her Lord equally and Her purushaakAram ( merciful intercession quality/sipArsu to Her Lord ) and performs the SaraNAgathi to the Sruthi satha vidhitha VenkatEsan , who is prapadhana sulabhan (easy of access for Prapatthi ) AzhwAr ThiruvaDigaLE saraNam Regards Namo narayana dAsan __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
