SrI: SrImathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah: Dearest Srivaishnavas, The next subsequent verses on the Goddess Mahalakshmi who is always with the Lord eternally. In the first sloka, Alavandhar describes that she is the dearest and the most favourite of the Lord. chakarttha yasyaa bhavanam bhujaantharam thava priyam dhaama yadheeya janmabhoo: jagath samastham yad apaanga samsrayam yad arttham ambhOdhi: amanthi abandhi cha [37] Your divine Chest- to the One for whom You have made it as a permanent residence; whose place of birth is the Milky ocean [which is Your most favourite place of stay as well]; for whose mere side glances (vailakshaNya kataaksham) even, the entire world takes refuge; and in order to get Her, the ocean was churned [by You] and as well as the bridge [cause way] was built across [by You]. [such Greatest PiraaTTi- in 39th verse] Not willing to let Her ThirumEni be away from You at anytime, You house her in Your divine chest itself; When she arose out of the milky ocean for the sake of the world; You adopted the same as Your very place of permanent residence and it became your divya Desam; This all shows the love that You have for Your beloved Sri Mahalakshmi. The world- which is at Your beck and call and is Your sEsham [servant- dAsars] at all times survives and receives Her mere side glances from Her most divinely Beautiful eyes and is most blessed. Thus She shares Supremacy with You as Dhivya Dhampathi. She thus is equal to You is declared here. You can not stand being away from Her and hence You and She play some leelAs during avathArams to languish and then unite with Her. We have enjoyed all Your efforts in churning the ocean for getting Her; and built a cause-way across the ocean during Raama avathAram. AaLavandhAr in the Chatussloki, establishes the equal status of Sri Devi with Her consort. As Isvari of Sarva BhutAs , she enjoys an equal status and rules the physical and the transcendental universe. She possesses like Her Lord, Svarupam, Rupam, GuNam and Vaibhavam. She shares in equal measure the six auspicious GuNAs of Her consort (BhagavAn )- JnAnam, Bhalam, Sakthi, Iswaryam, Veeryam and Tejas. That is why She is known as Bhagavathi or ShAtgunya SampoorNai. She is inseparable from Her Lord at all times and states(AnapAyini). This Nitya Sri surpasses in some regards Her Lord as a result of Her motherly qualities such as DayA, KshamA (forgivenness), Vaatsalya (tender, endearing affection) just as a mother has for her children. Through Her innate UdhAra SvabhAva (magnanimity), She showers us with Her blessings (anugrahams) and grants us Aiswaryam, Kaivalyam and Moksham, when surrender to Her to seek these anugrahams. She has in addition a unique role through Her PurushakAratvam. She intercedes with Her Lord on behalf of the sinners and recommends that the sinners be forgiven by Her Lord to become the object of His grace Alavandhaar ThiruvaDigaLE SaraNam Regards Namo Narayana dAsan __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
