Adiyen also met adiyen's kalakshepa acharyan during our desika utsavam at Desika sampradaya sabha here in mumbai. Our swami also said the same thing devar said. He asked adiyen to call it as 'Hayagriva aradhanam'.Once again adiyen thanks devar! AdiyEn, PAdhukasevakadaasaaanudasan. AravindalOchanadaasaanudaasan. Ram Anbil <ramanbil@xxxx> wrote: Dear friend: A Prapanna is a Paramaikanti, one who does not crave for any benefits from Devataantaras. So, Saraswati who is depicted as Brahma's wife in the Post Vedic period is not to be worshipped by a Prapanna either for Moksham or for any other benefit. As Swami Desika puts it: "Oh! Lord Hayagriva! DakshiNaamoorthy (Siva) who taught the Tattvartas to the four Rishis, Agastya, Pulastya, Daksha and MaarkaNDEya, Brahma's wife Saraswati who grants the gift of learning and the great Sages like Vyaasa, Paraasara and Vaalmeeki who are renowned for their great works and many other distinguished personalities have come to occupy their exalted status by virtue of imbibing a millionth part of your grace" DaakshiNya ramyaa gireesasya moorthih dEvee sarOjaasana dharmapatnee / vyaasaadayOpi vyapadEsya vaachah spuranthi sarvE thava sakti lEsaih// Hayagriva Stotram 7Thus, Paramaikantins offer their prayers to Lord Hayagriva, the fountainheadof all knowledge and NOT to any other deity. Also, even taking Saraswati in the Post puraNic sense, we see her as a devotee of Lord Hayagriva, having received His grace, thus qualifying as a "Tadheeya". So, there is no harm in offering our respects to her (vandanam) NOT for acquiring Moksham or any other boon. But, the word "Saraswati" has other significance in the Vedas. It is in thissense that we salute Saraswati as the "Vaak Devi", the essence of the Sound of Vedas. Your attention is invited to several postings on the subject especiallythose in which Sri Sadagopan has written in previous years quite elaborately about the Vedic concept of Saraswati :http://www.ramanuja.org/sv/bhakti/archives/feb96/0033.html http://www.ramanuja.org/sv/bhakti/archives/aug98/0078.html http://www.ramanuja.org/sv/bhakti/archives/aug98/0154.html http://www.ramanuja.org/sv/bhakti/archives/aug98/0169.html "According to the understanding of some acharyas, as the presiding deity of all speech, Saraswati is appropriately the consort of Lord Hayagriva, and is not to be confused with the later Puranic notion of a Saraswati being the wife of Brahma (sarojAsana-dharma-patnI). Accordingly, She is Lakshmi Herself; if Hayagriva represents the essence of the Vedas, She is the sound of this essence, related inseparably to it". Hope this helps.
