Corrupt Washington Disappears Overnight
If political candidates no longer relied on campaign donations to run their campaigns, and elected representatives no longer relied on lobbyists for financial support, would corruption in Washington be eliminated? Probably not. There's this little thing about performance. Who brings home the federal bacon?
Let's worry about that, later. Right now, it's a good time to bring our election process under control. How do we do that? Easy. Simple. Requires no technical expertise. Is totally under the control of the People.
Each community creates a local broadband infrastructure. Open-mesh.com sells little boxes, that look something like the digital tv boxes. Have you seen the idiotic digital tv converter box national policy our country is engaged in? It's called, make sure every American can watch digital tv national policy. Next February, all telecommunications switch to digital transmission mode. The digital tv converter boxes cost $50.
That's $50 per household, and the country is determined to make sure every household in every community has one box. The federal government is footing the bill to the tune of $450 million. To create a local broadband infrastructure in every community in the country, which would enable all local telecommunications including phone, tv, radio, every house would need to spend $50.
The first candidate that spends $50 out of their campaign funds, and starts a local broadband infrastructure, will, when the entire community is participating, will be able to claim a legacy of providing the community with free local broadband access for generations to come. That's pretty good, considering the candidate hasn't even been elected, yet. So, from that moment on, the first candidate to do this, will have preferred access to all constituents on a daily basis. Seems like a good way to keep in touch, and a good way to get one's message out, don't you agree?
The cost is ridiculously low. The technical expertise is nothing more than being able to plug in a lamp into a wall socket. The return on that $50 investment by the candidate is limitless.
Corruption begins its disappearing act. Who will be first?
