- The Sampling Book Steve DeFuria, Joe Scacciaferro, Third Earth Publishing, Inc., New Jersey 1987. Sampling explained throughoutly. A little bit old-fashioned but useful.
- A Synthesist's Guide to Acoustic Instruments H. Massey, A. Noyes, D. Shklair, Asmco Publications, New York. All acoustic instruments explained in their timbres, synthesis models, and playing techniques.
SEQUENCING & MIDI
- MIDI Sequencing for Musicians Jim Aikin, Mike Maranz, GBI Publications, Cupertino 1989. The Basics of MIDI and sequencing in an easy and understable form.
- Music in Sequence William Lloyd, Paul Terry, Musonix Publishing, London 1992. Sequencing explained very clearly. Examples of all kind of famous music, also classic.
- Cakewalkin': The Easy Way, by Betty Kainz. On-line lessons in using Cakewalk Pro 3.0 (The famous sequencer program).

- Arranging Techniques for Synthesists Erik Türkel, Amsco Publications, New York 1988. Professional arranger explains every detail.
- The Billboard Book of Rock Arranging M. Michaels, J. Braider, Billboard Publications, Inc., New York 1990. Rock, blues, funk and country styles explained with modern examples.
- The Billboard Book of Songwriting Peter Pickow, Amy Appleby, Billboard Publications, Inc., New York 1988. The form, notation, lyrics and styles all between the same covers.
