New Finland Mintmarks

Postby theeuro » 13 Mar 2010, 21:20

In 2010, the Finnish mint, Rahapaja Oy, changed their logo from a stylised cornucopia with coins to a heraldic lion. The change will be reflected on all euro coins produced at this facility, which previously used a mintmark. This will include the Estonian national circulation euro coins, which are scheduled to begin production in June, 2010 and expected to be circulated starting January 2011, when Estonia adopts the euro.

The heraldic lion is represented within a circular field as a mintmark on coins.

Has anyone seen the new coins? Any pictures on the web? That lion looks quite complicated to me and I would like to see how it looks in such a small place.

Besides Estonia, what other countries are produced in Finland that will have these marks?
