The σ11 is a single-rail, all-discrete high performance linear
regulated power supply. See the official
σ11 website for details.
I use it to power my
M³ and
Millett Hybrid
headphone amplifiers.
σ11 offers superior performance to LM317 or other
three-terminal linear IC regulator based power supplies.
This σ11 is configured as follows:
Amveco 62062 25VA toroidal power transformer.
Full wave bridge rectifier comprised of discrete
International Rectifier MUR820 ultrafast recovery diodes,
further stabilized with C0G snubber capacitors.
Panasonic FC and Nichicon UHE low-ESR high reliability
capacitors.
Output voltage set to 28V.
Front-mounted rocker power switch and blue LED indicator.
Rear-mounted IEC AC power entry module with fuse, DC output jack.
Enclosure based on a Hammond 1455N1602BK extrusion and custom-made
acrylic front and rear panels and top cover.
