University of Alabama at Birmingham Injury Control Research Center

Established in the mid 1980s, UAB is a Comprehensive ICRC, whose faculty conducts research in all of injury control's three phases: prevention, acute care and rehabilitation. All of UAB's injury research projects fall within one of two domains: Behavioral Interventions for Injury Control or Environmental Interventions for Injury Control. During 2000, the UAB-ICRC had 110 faculty representing 10 schools at UAB and 13 faculty from other prestigious academic institutions from throughout the United States.
