In 1997 a group of high school movie-makers assembled to create "Lex Talionis" (roughly translated from Latin: "The Law of Revenge"). The Star Wars parody paved the way for the recently retired NCSSM annual film festival. Brown went on to UNC, gaining experience on the crew of the Carolina Production Guild film "Secondhand". Later that year, with the help of "Lex Talionis" associates Aaron Freeman and Marcus Carden, I co-wrote and co-directed "Curious George," a social commentary on the nature of money.
Currently, I'm at NC State, where I'm involved with University Theatre. As a student in the College of Design, I plan to produce animated and live-action shorts, as well as pursue film-related internships in California. I've got a passion for filmmaking, aspirations for animating, and newfound interest in acting; anything is possible.
Jackson on shooting the film:
"The most memorable part of the project for me was filming in the rain. It poured during the first couple of shoots, so we duct taped umbrellas to some light stands and kept going. The rain actually added a pretty cool element to the film; with the dark shadows and eerily sinister dialogue, it gave the scene a touch of the film noir." |
