"UNC-CH student from FV excels in film-making," by Jessica Whaley Kozma
Cinema attracts all types of people, from those who daydream about becoming stars to those who want to be the next Francis Ford Coppola.
For one native of Fuquay-Varina, making movies is what life is about.
Aaron Freeman, 20, a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and originally of Fuquay-Varina, already has begun paving the avenue that will carry him to his own cinematic success.
The college junior and business administration major looks more like he should be skateboarding rather than producing films, but his mind is one-track, keeping his focus continually on his work. |
"Making films takes up every second of the day," Freeman said. "You have to be involved to do well. There are people at [UNC-CH] who major in media production, but they are not out there actually learning as they go. They get out of school expecting to get a job immediately in their field, and some do, but most of them fail. If they were working with crews and behind the camera before they finished school, they would understand that the classroom will not completely prepare you for making movies."
Freeman is preparing himself with work in the real world of movie production, and is in production with his third film, called "Thru Yonder Window Breaks." It is an action film, one with car chases and a restaurant shootout.
The movie is currently shooting several of the important scenes |
for the film, and Freeman is hoping that the hour-long film may possibly get distributed.
"It's a low-budget action film... |
