In the next two weeks (7/31 - 8/11), shooting begins for the independent action film called "Thru Yonder Window Breaks."
Defying the rule that action movies have to have large budgets, established Chapel Hill student filmmaker Aaron Freeman (featured in The Chapel Hill News) puts on-the-fly, "El Mariachi"-style filmmaking into use. With an acclaimed local cast and a growing list of talented crew members as well as corporate sponsors, the filmmaker plans for multiple car chase scenes, shootouts, martial arts battles, and professional-grade computer graphics. Along with spectacular action comes the deep themes and dazzling cinematography that Freeman has instituted in past, more artistic films. Using wits, digital technology, innovative techniques, and the help of the community, Freeman and company hopes to eventually distribute this 45 - 60 minute short feature film.
