Dear Rhonda, Folks--

If we're looking for people to lecture about gas chambers and the
sanctity of life I say we wade right in and start with the religious
fanatics and hypocrites (or in my case, myself) rather those who would
seek to draw a line between church and state. Or we can turn a deaf ear
to history and let them (us, me) pull the same horrific crime again.
Nah, I say thank God for Wade's satire. What we need is not less Wade,
but someone to wade in from the right and give those pusillanimous, four
flushing leftist their due as well.

I mean this discussion list is not a Percy shrine, with hall monitors and
all, is it? I say Percy, himself, would not have put up with such. But
of course I could be wrong and usually am. Anyway, always good to hear
what folks on the Percy list have to say.

BTW, welcome to Karey. I read that Fowler book and thought it was pretty
good. As I recall some ministerial student of his rated me on his scale
and then "made" me read it. I didn't do so hot as you might guess.

Affectionately,
Jim Piat
