On pages 436 and 437 of The Habit of Being, Flannery O'Connor's letters,
there is a great exchange with a professor of English about a genuine off the
wall interpretation of "A Good Man is Hard to Find." She closes with, "My
tone is not meant to be obnoxious. I am in a state of shock." I am sure you
have already read it, but it's truly great and funny and too long to quote.
I reccomend it to all. I enjoy authors and critics.
