Jim Forest's lovely post and our listmate Alphonse Vinh's evocative review of the new biography suggest that some of you might be interested in a documentary film about
Father Flye by documentary filmmaker Ross Spears. I have not seen either
the Fr. Flye program or Spears's earlier work on James Agee (he still
calls his production company, based in Kingsport, TN and Charlottesville,
VA the "James Agee Project"), but I have seen the first of three films
that he made about Southern Literature in the 20th century called "Tell
About the South," and it is first rate. I have recommended it to the list
before, as it includes a good interview with Shelby Foote on Faulkner. I
suspect that the third film includes Percy, but I do not know to what
extent. The link for the Fr. Fly program is http://www.ageefilms.org/flye.
html if you are interested and that will link you to the other programs as
well.
