Dear Percy-L:
We have lost our lease and as of Monday, 10/1, will be relocating list
discussion to a server at UNC-Chapel Hill. The changes should be
transparent for the list with the exception of new list-submission and
member maintenance addresses. This message is being distributed on the
soon to be disabled LSU service.
CURRENT CHANGES
1. New submission address (as mentioned); to be released Oct. 1
2. Addition of the suffix [percy-l] to all distributed messages; allows
ready identification of list-related messages in your mailbox
3. All members who submit a message will receive a copy of their message in
their mailbox
UNSUBSCRIPTIONS & RE-SUBSCRIPTIONS
Requests for change in list participation should be directed to
<wpercy1@mail.ibiblio.org>
TEST MESSAGES
On Monday, Oct.1, several test messages will be distributed on the new UNC
list service. If you do not receive any messages during that period, send
an email to <wpercy1@mail.ibiblio.org>, and we will work to get you back on
the list.
CURRENT USERS
Percy-L currently boasts 225 members from around the world, including
numerous well-know Percy scholars. The new server and its many new
features will help us keep that tradition going in the continued hope that
list membership and quality discussion will continue to grow.
ANONYMOUS USERS
The list currently has two anonymous users. If these members wish to
continue to participate in the list, you will need to forward your email
address and name to <wpercy1@mail.ibiblio.org>. Without this information,
we will be unable to transfer your account to the new server.
FUTURE SERVICES
The new service is much more robust than what has been offered to the list
the past five years at LSU, so over time you can expect further
announcements of the additional available services. Included in this will
be updating of the list's archives.
QUESTIONS/CONCERNS
Please feel free to contact me at this address if you have any questions
or concerns about the current listserv changes. Recognition again should
go to UNC-Chapel Hill for their continued support of Walker Percy Project
activities.
Sincerely,
Henry Mills
