Apparently Mr. Woods would rather commune with a few books and his God than
engage in conversation with another human being? Strange behavior in a
chat group.
I have no ontological lapsometer and claim no native diagnostic skill.
My point, which I think Mr. Woods would rather not get, is that he does
nothing but quote a few passages from someone else's work. When asked to
explain the most elementary implication of the quotation (what is it in
Heidegger that illuminates either Percy or Thomas?) he contempuously
responds, "Did that <G>" But he did nothing of the kind. He gestured
at MacIntrye's sketch of a lineage in the history of philosophy which
might explain Heidegger's failure to confront Aquinas' metaphysics as a
systematic whole. Does Woods quote MacIntyre because he doesn't
understand what he's reading?
"Did that <G>" !? I usually understand two word responses (ordinarily
commands of some sort), but not this time. Is he swearing at me? sharing
an epiphany? is he the Delphic Oracle of this chat group? If he's
Grumpy, where are the other six?
Does he think this chat group is a playground for retired sophomores?
religious luddites who fancy themselves aphorists?
Old EZ is outta' here for spring break! Please talk among yourselves.
