To all members of Percy-L:

The Percy Project is pleased to offer two new interactive services that
will enable you to connect with others and collaborate in your "on-line"
exploration and discussion of Percy in even more creative and powerful ways
than Percy-L alone. Point your browser to
http://sunsite.unc.edu/wpercy/interact.html to see the trial versions of
the Percy Project's new Forum and Chat areas:

1) Forums are "threaded" posting boards where readers can browse and
respond to posts in a central, permanent message area. Users may post
queries or comments about any subject related to Walker Percy here. There
is no limit to the number of posts or subjects.

2) Chat rooms allow realtime text-based discussion between users who are
simultaneously "logged on" in a given chat area. At the top of the chat
screen, you will find a listing of other persons in the room as well as a
count of when the last comment was posted.

Both services work with any standard web browser and contain simple
instructions.

These new resoures will only become as strong and deep as the on-line Percy
community decides to build them, and I invite you to help in their initial
development. There are over 135 members of Percy-L who will receive this
message, which is more than a sizeable amount to give these new areas some
activity.

If you plan to teach Percy and would like to have special chat and/or forum
areas set up for use by your students or class, please send email to
henm@mail.utexas.edu, and we will be glad to work with you in this regard.
