There's an article on "Percy and Hemingway: All the Names of
Death," or something along those lines--by William Rodney Allen; I believe
it's in an issue of Mississippi Quarterly, sometime in the 80's.
There seems to be a lot of implicit (and sometimes explicit)
commentary on Hemingway in Percy's treatment of Merlin in -Lancelot-
and in a good deal of his treatment of the 20th c. writer in -Lost in the
Cosmos-. There's that bit about Merlin wanting to return to Africa and
find a good woman to join him in lovemaking and hunting . . .
