I first read Percy in Jan. 97. Found a copy at my parents house, "The Last Gentleman". I loved it though it was a bit depressing at the end. The way the main character (I forget his name) saw 'sun motes" or something in the air/ether was very mystical, otherwordly, and spiritual. Made me want to get a good quality telescope the way he wrote of it so lovingly.

His depth of insight into our human condition was very moving for me. Wonderful mix of humor and consciousness.

Next I read 'Love In the Ruins" because i had heard of it. Did not like it as much as 'Gentleman' though it was very good; seemed darker somehow. I think I like the realistic setting of "Gentleman" better. Believe I'll try "Moviegoer" next.

Glad to see this contingent of devoted observers of the human condition. By God's grace may we find the Light of Truth.
