Duke University’s men’s basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski is widely considered to be the school’s most recognizable employee. Coach K’s current team is expected to be one of the country’s best this year – and now Krzyzewski has been picked to lead the US National Basketball team. Add to all that to his TV commercials and high fees on the celebrity speaker circuit and Mike Krzyzewski the man – morphs into Coach K the brand. Rusty Jacobs reports.

The new state lottery commission voted unanimously yesterday to adopt a code of ethics. They’re hoping the code will help quell a controversy that’s been brewing since the commission started. Laura Leslie reports from the state capitol.
On November 18th, the State plans to execute Elias Syriani for the murder of his wife 15 years ago. But the couple’s four children want Governor Mike Easley to grant their father clemency. The Syriani children say they’d be victimized again if their father is executed. Rusty Jacobs reports.
Environmentalists in North Carolina are concerned about the plans utility companies have to build new coal-fired and nuclear power plants. Last night hundreds turned out for a public forum to discuss alternative energy ideas. Lorne Matalon reports.
