Womens Final Four

Two teams from North Carolina hope to make their mark on Boston this weekend. Boston is home to this year\’s final four of the womens NCAA basketball tournament. Carolina and Duke face Maryland and LSU on Sunday for the chance to play for a National Championship. David Brower reports.

Along with death and taxes, there is another thing that we all have in common – sleep. But as many as 40 percent of Americans have a hard time sleeping. For a long time, scientists have not known exactly why we sleep. There is a lot of new research about what causes sleep problems and how to address them. Rose Hoban reports.

NC Lottery – The First Day

The North Carolina Lottery got underway this morning. After years of debate in the General Assembly, intense lobbying from all sides, and a series of legal challenges the first batch of scratch-off tickets went on sale today. Eric Hodge spoke with Laura Leslie about the first day.

Iron Lung

For 58 years, Martha Mason has lived in an iron lung in her small house in Lattimore, about 60 miles west of Charlotte. But her life has been anything but stagnant. She graduated first in her class from two universities and has written a memoir. Dave Dewitt reports from Latimore.
