ON NOVEMBER THIRD, 1979, MEMBERS OF THE KU KLUX KLAN AND THE NAZI PARTY OPENED FIRE ON A GROUP OF ACTIVISTS WHO WERE HOLDING WHAT THEY CALLED A ‘DEATH TO THE KLAN’ RALLY. FIVE PEOPLE WERE KILLED. THIS WEEKEND HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE GATHERED IN GREENSBORO TO MARK THE TWENTY FIFTH ANNIVERSARY. WUNC\’S JESSICA JONES REPORTS.
