Poverty in Robeson County

ROBESON COUNTY IS THE MOST DIVERSE RURAL COUNTY IN NORTH CAROLINA. A MIX OF LUMBEE INDIAN, WHITE, BLACK AND HISPANIC. IT\’S ALSO ONE OF THE MOST DEPRESSED COUNTIES. IT HAS A HIGH SCHOOL DROPOUT RATE, A LOW PER CAPITA INCOME, AND A POVERTY RATE THAT\’S ALMOST TWICE THE STATE AVERAGE.
