Frank and Laura then move on to the embattled Speaker of the NC House, Jim Black, and Rob Christiansen, a political columnist with the News & Observer, joins the conversation. Then Frank speaks with Merrill Lunch of the Nature Conservancy about a large purchase of land in Western North Carolina for conservation. Staying in the western part of the state, Julie Ball, a reporter with the Asheville Citizen-Times joins Frank to discuss the proposed “road to nowhere. . .” And then Lee Weisbecker of the Triangle Business Journal joins Frank to discuss $15 million that a Swiss firm was supposed to invest on behalf of the Golden Leaf foundation.
