Arthur Breton
Mr. Arthur Breton died last week on Wednesday, October 18, 2000. His funeral was held on Tuesday, October 24 in Baltimore at the Holy Cross Catholic Church. He was buried at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.
Arthur worked for many years at the Archives of American Art in Washington, DC, from which he retired. He was active in archival organizations, including the Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference (MARAC), serving a term as MARAC Chair.
Arthur had an abiding interest in archival education, and was always willing to share his knowledge formally, and informally. He personified much of what being an archival professional is about, and he will be greatly missed by his colleagues and friends.
