Re: dative of things possessed?

Barry H. said,
Oh, good grief of course it's in Wallace. I obviously meant other grammars.
I almost forgot what medium we were using. I was looking for the LIKE button.

Re: Biblical Greek Dictionary and Parsing Practice App (iOS)

The design of the app has been very much based on "What app would I have wanted when I was a student". I know there are quite a few teachers on here, so I would very much appreciate and value any constructive feedback that I could take on board to improve it. Jacob, this looks like a grea...

Re: Matt. 21:17 Questioning Passive Deponency of αυλιζομαι

Some really good responses above regarding the actual linguistic reality behind what we old dogs still call deponents. To explain the traditional terminology a bit better, a "middle deponent" is one which uses only middle forms throughout, even when as for the future and aorist there is a...

Re: Matt. 21:17 Questioning Passive Deponency of αυλιζομαι

I might point to Rachel Aubrey's chapter in The Greek Verb Revisited , who echoes Carl Conrad's work on the move of the aorist passive towards the aorist middle. In less than four hours now, I will get to listen to one of my students reflections on that chapter, and presentation to the other members...

Re: Trouble with Papyrus that bans divination

Regarding Lampe's lexicon in Logos: I was unaware of the $29 bid. I DID upgrade my Logos library to version 9, and now HAVE Lampe's lexicon in the upgrade library. It appears to function NOW like any other Logos library resource.

Can someone help me?

I have searched the archives for "monetary terms" and "commercial terms" but have not found what I'm looking for. Maybe somebody here can point me in a direction for my research. I'm interested in commercial or monetary terms (most likely in the papyri) that may impact the unders...

Re: English/Greek Lexicon

I followed this particular link with interest since it started a few days ago. I was thinking that the resource I will share had been mentioned in this forum before. Perhaps it was in a different place. At any rate, Benjamin Kantor has a site with MANY excellent resources, including videos. His site...

Re: Lowfat treebank browser

Thanks, Jonathan! I'm an older Koine Greek prof who, (in recent years) has been attempting to learn new tricks. As I delve into areas of Discourse Analysis and Verbal Aspect theory with my students, your hard work will pay dividends. I see your treebank browser as something that can benefit my stude...

Re: Spelling of σῴζειν in the Present Tense

Thank you very much for the kind replies When I e-mailed Dr. Black, I was not attempting to be snarky, but I fear that he took it that way. It just lingered in the back of my mind until I saw the text from Gregory. I was pretty certain that someone would give me an answer. I would like to do more wi...
