Re: Editors Needed for Greek Lexicon

For that matter, a Biblical Hebrew to Biblical Hebrew lexicon/glossary would be helpful also. I've started on what could be a small step toward such a work. It's a BH to BH vocabulary for the book of Jonah. I've done the first five verses (first draft) and hope to return to the project later this ye...

Re: Editors Needed for Greek Lexicon

Despite the difficulties/challenges in doing it well, I agree with Randall that we need such a Koine to Koine tool. There is no reason why both editions could not be done and published, Koine to Koine and Koine to English, Koine to other languages. It's all in the willingness and commitment people h...

There is also this helpful thread on asking questions in Koine, in the Ancient Greek Best Practices forum (Google Groups): https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic ... rziPlWeu7E. Our own Paul Nitz put it together. εργον αγαθον, Σαυλε!

Re: Gaining Proficiency...

There are two great books by Zondervan with devotions on the Greek NT and the Hebrew Bible. These also have helpful insights on the grammar and vocabulary of the passages discussed. I bought these in 2018 at Christmas and used them last year. I benefited from them a great deal. Here's a link to the ...

Re: Gaining Proficiency...

There are some good recently published vocabulary guides that give the key original-language vocabulary for each Biblical book. There are ones for the Greek NT, the Septuagint, and the Hebrew Bible. Here's a link to the listing on Amazon for the NT one: https://tinyurl.com/t8m4bzz . To see the LXX a...

Re: Gaining Proficiency...

Josh, you've made a great start! And I commend you for learning Hebrew as well as Greek. Few souls are brave/open-minded/curious/disciplined enough to attempt both. As one who is doing so myself, I fully appreciate the difficulties-and the great rewards. I would add to Barry and Paul's advice that y...

I've also written a short article on the pronunciation of upsilon as a consonant in diphthongs (both in Modern and Restored Koine pronunciations). You can access it on my blog, here: https://wp.me/p9aTup-5b. You can also get it on my Academia.edu page.

James, thanks for reminding me of this. I apologize for not following up earlier. It turned out that the available upload speeds are not sufficient. The best alternative, for now, is to put them on a flash drive or memory card and send them via postal mail. I’ll send you a PM with my address. You ca...

χαιρε, ω φιλε Ενακ! I would be happy to chat in Greek with you if you could do it via Google Hangouts. I understand you need a smartphone to do Whatsapp, and I don't have one. If this would work for you, let me know and we'll arrange a time. Otherwise, you could message me here with PM and practice ...
