Re: Rebasing MorphGNT off SBLGNT

Does anyone here know if there has there been any further progress? The files on GitHub show 10 Jan 2011 as the last update, at which point there was further work anticipated before finalisation.

Re: newbie..how do I type my verse in greek?

1) Type it with betacode... http://typegreek.com 2) Or copy it from an online text (Google "Greek Hebrews 8", there are a few, just check any older text doesn't have some unusual variant) ... 13 ἐν τῷ λέγειν Καινὴν πεπαλαίωκεν τὴν πρώτην· τὸ δὲ παλαιούμενον καὶ γηράσκον ἐγγὺς ἀφανισμοῦ. 3)...

I haven't gotten breve and macron to work, though, or anything else that needs the 'compose' key, like " · ". Have you found that to work?
Never mind, it's SHIFT + RIGHT_ALT by default.

Re: Greek Keyboards

Unfortunately, I didn't see the psili/daseia (breathing) key. On Mac and PC it is the [ ' " ] key. Perhaps there is an updated Linus keyboard, or I missed something. You need the instructions along with the keyboard layout. Breathing is fully supported. I haven't gotten breve and macron to wor...

Re: Greek Keyboards

I've always preferred to type using a variant of betacode, a la http://typegreek.com -- but after taking the time to adjust to the OS layouts I'm finding them increasingly natural. However, I can't find an accurate keyboard layout diagram to add here. I see Jonathan Robiue has elsewhere posted exac...

Re: Animal Sounds Vocabulary List?

Further to this vital subject, a blog post at Laudator Temporis Acti... http://laudatortemporisacti.blogspot.com/2004/09/animal-sounds.html Which offers: βᾶΰζω (to cry bau bau, to bark, cf. Latin baubor) βῆβῆ (the cry of sheep) * γρῦ (the sound a pig makes, cf. Latin grunnio) * The blog gives βῆ, LS...

Re: Greek equivalents for Classroom sayings

Coming back to classroom sayings... The back few pages of Randall Buth's 'Living Koine Greek' Part 2-a list Greek terms for grammar and parsing; that could make for some fast Q&A; "How many words in this sentence? How many letters in this word? How many words in the Genitive case?" (ἠ ...

Re: First 1000 Words in Koine Greek

There is at least a page of text and description that could go with any picture of this kind; surely that's a more appropriate way forward than trying to reduce the richness of a photograph to a single word or phrase.

Re: Living Koine vs. The Rest of the World

Very nice. Even better if the questions were also in Greek, perhaps? Well, it might be greedy to wish for the whole moon. My question is how to rank the all-greek material so that readers can find a challenge suitable to their level of competence; some kind of scale should be applied. The six level...
