Romans 5:12 dia touto
Διὰ τοῦτο ὥσπερ δι' ἑνὸς ἀνθρώπου ἡ ἁμαρτία εἰς τὸν κόσμον εἰσῆλθεν καὶ διὰ τῆς ἁμαρτίας ὁ θάνατος, καὶ οὕτως εἰς πάντας ἀνθρώπους ὁ θάνατος διῆλθεν, ἐφ' ᾧ πάντες ἥμαρτον A couple of questions, the first is to what (if anything) does the first DIA TOUTO refer? Suggestions are all over the place. Sec...

Romans 5:7 Two uses of Gar
μόλις γὰρ ὑπὲρ δικαίου τις ἀποθανεῖται· ὑπὲρ γὰρ τοῦ ἀγαθοῦ τάχα τις καὶ τολμᾷ ἀποθανεῖν· Does anyone have any insight on the second of the two usages of gar in this verse? Additionally, any understanding about whether the grammar here seems to be positing one person (the righteous man and the good ...

Re: Romans 4:11
That is fine for the first eis + articular infinitive phrase, my question concerned the understanding of the second phrase
εἰς τὸ λογισθῆναι [καὶ] αὐτοῖς [τὴν] δικαιοσύνην. The first would seem to denote God's purpose, but the second seems more unclear to me as to purpose or result.

Searching the list and archives
The search engine does not seem to be too effective when looking for a particular verse, and I suspect that may be true for a number of reasons. However, it would be very advantageous if one could search by limiting the question to a particular NT book. For instance, I would like to search Romans si...

Re: Romans 1:27
Yes, there are four verbs, but only three governed by the nominative subject the males . I am inclined to see a temporal progression (which provides the results) since the verb burned would seem to denote a mental state, and the first participle κατεργαζόμενοι expressing an overt action that proceed...

Romans 1:23
My question relates to how one understands and classifies the genitive string in Romans 1:23 that follows the en clause. The entire phrase relates to that which was exchanged for the glory of the incorruptible God, but I am having a little trouble identifying the type of genitives used here. καὶ ἤλλ...

Romans 1:10
I wonder if this has not been addressed elsewhere, but had trouble searching the archives to find a particular verse. The final infinitive in verse 10 elthein must relate to the verb euodwqhsomai, but I am at a loss as to how to categorize it.
Any help is appreciated.
