Re: Mark 10:36 Τί θέλετέ [με] ποιήσω ὑμῖν;
There's a good deal of talk (I've done my share) about Mark's "oddball" Greek; nobody talks about solecisms, so far as I know, but there are several passages that are similar to this one in that they are perfectly intelligible Greek -- there's really no missing or added meaning, I think w...

Re: Preparing for Patristic Greek
Some of the Apostolic Fathers write in an Atticizing style, but over all the Greek is not that different from the NT. Bauer's lexicon is great for covering some unfamiliar idioms and cruxes. You may run in to more optatives than you are used to, an occasional dual might show up. λυοντων instead of λ...

Iver wrote A free and more understandable translation might be: Blessed are those who acknowledge their dependence on God. While I agree 100% with Iver here, I want to mention at this point that Ann Nyland in the Source New Testament renders this "Happy, spiritually, are the financially poor.&q...

Refe wrote concerning Mounce That encouragement and sense of progress is important for those of us without the benefit of an instructor or classmates. I agree. Motivation is crucial and Mounce is a great motivator. Leaning Greek is 55% motivation and 45% perspiration and 5% everything else. As I thi...

I like the PDF very much. Nice use of repetition and switch-outs. You provide some easy Greek which people are always looking for. You provide a way to get deeper into a given text by going outside and around it. ευγε! ευχαριστω σοι ποιησαντι τουτο. γραφεις καλους μυθους. συ ερωτᾳς καλα ερωτημα.

Re: McMaster & B-Greek
We could have a section where theology and other topics which have hitherto been considered out of bounds would be allowed. People who are uninterested or offended could just stay out of this section. If a thread got closed, people resume it there.Which things might require a change in policy?
