Καθαρεύουσα

Is/was Καθαρεύουσα pronounced the same as modern Greek?

What are the 2d and 3d person plural pronouns in Καθαρεύουσα?

Philippians 1 - παράκλησις, παραμύθιον, σπλάγχνα, οἰκτιρμοί

Εἴ τις οὖν παράκλησις ἐν Χριστῷ, εἴ τι παραμύθιον ἀγάπης, εἴ τις κοινωνία πνεύματος, εἴ τις σπλάγχνα καὶ οἰκτιρμοί Can someone help me sort out the distinctions being made between παράκλησις, παραμύθιον, σπλάγχνα, and οἰκτιρμοί in this verse? Is παράκλησις 'encouragement' or 'exhortation' here? Are...

Hey, thanks for doing that! This is a high quality text that is early enough to be in the public domai...

Not all ι, η, υ, ει, οι, υι, sound the same, ...

Have you tried Mnemosyne; it does spaced repetition well. Flash cards sets can be made from tab-separated files fairly easily.
I like both Mnemosyne and Anki for this. I've been using mostly Anki lately. Both very nice.

Re: What Greek software is still unmade?

More power to you if you find a job programming Greek software. Sounds like you need this to provide income, it has to be more than a hobby?

What's your programming background?

I'd love to have such a job myself ...

Re: The Term Aktionsart

OK, let me sum up where I think the discussion stands: The term Aktionsart has been used by different writers over different times for a variety of different aspect-related concepts. Some prefer different terms for lexical, grammatical/morphological, context/pragmatic aspect; others like reusing th...
