Re: Muraoka - Wisdom of Ben Sira

Will Ross, Aaron Fenlason and I are compiling a Comprehensive Bibliography of Septuagint Studies using Zotero. It has over 18,000 items, and now it has one more! We have a meeting with Brill tomorrow morning about publishing a print version.

Re: ἄν in Gen 12:1

Re: Ephesians 2:8 - τοῦτο...τὸ δῶρον

I'm going to go out on a limb here and disagree with Jason and Dewayne's objection on the basis of gender regarding τῇ γὰρ χάριτί ἐστε σεσῳσμένοι διὰ πίστεως καὶ τοῦτο οὐκ ἐξ ὑμῶν θεοῦ τὸ δῶρον. By itself, how would τοῦτο οὐκ ἐξ ὑμῶν θεοῦ τὸ δῶρον be understood? "This is the gift of God, not fr...

Re: Tense-aspect in Matthew 13:44-46

1. κεκρυμμένῳ - perfect tense is used to emphasis the present state of the treasure (hidden in a field). 2. εὑρὼν and ἔκρυψεν - aorist tense is used to describe events (finding and hiding the treasure) without focusing on how or when it was found/hidden (perfective aspect). The aorist tense is also...

I just wanted to point out this rare Psalm excerpt on stone, in case anyone wants to decipher it and use its spelling "mistakes" to learn about pronunciation in the 6th century.
