Re: How to translate "My commandment is righteous." to Greek

Sounds like an old Machen made-up sentence I recall from my long-ago youth.

Re: Gal 2:19 Χριστῷ συνεσταύρωμαι

Since they are talking about the same thing/event, we know that συνεσταύρωμαι is used in passive sense.
Not to venture too much into theology here, but you're assuming way more than what's in evidence in this assertion.

Re: Rom 8:7 - εχθρα εις θεον

Is it possible that the sense of εχθρα εις θεον is 'enmity towards God' but because of the meaning of the word εχθρα/enmity it's more natural to English it as 'enmity against God'?

Re: Rom 16:19 - χαιρω το εφ υμιν

Could το εφ υμιν refer to the news of their obedience reaching the wider Christian community and Paul is rejoicing with respect to the spread of that news and its potential effects?

Re: Questions about Mark 2:23

David: I'm not sure I see any real difference between sabbath singular and sabbath plural, even in the context you cited. One might propose that the singular form means the sabbath in concept or a particular sabbath and the plural denotes numerous sabbath days. But that wouldn't make sense in verse ...

Re: Heb. 2:17

I don't have the text of Clement in front of me (could you provide a citation?) but wouldn't the snippet you quoted mean 'we ought to give thanks to him in every respect' rather than 'we ought in every respect to give thanks to him' and thus correspond to the standard rendering of Hebrews 2:17 rathe...

Re: Mark 1:27

Here, the present infinitive is relative to the main verb, the present tense showing that the action is contemporaneous with that of the main verb. Tense in the infinitive is relative to the main verb? I know that's true of participles, but infinitives? I've always been led to believe that 'tense' ...

Re: Colossians 2:12

Wary of crossing the line from Greek to theology, I would understand τῆς πίστεως τῆς ἐνεργείας τοῦ θεοῦ as 'the faithfulness of God's working'.
