Re: Biblical Greek Dictionary and Parsing Practice App (iOS)
I've changed the website to act like the iOS app for now. I would love to get the accents filled out ASAP, but yes it does need to be done right. I have started work on Dan Carsons Book on Accents, it is great, but its a bit tedious to work through. If anyone has other recommendations on accent reso...

Re: Biblical Greek Dictionary and Parsing Practice App (iOS)
It would be better I think to indicate that unaccented words are present for the time being where the correct form is not yet producible in the code. Yes, iOS app deliberately doesnt add accents to words that don't appear in the NT, So it basically shows words with accents when the word appears in ...

Re: Biblical Greek Dictionary and Parsing Practice App (iOS)
The the legalities of scraping make me a little allergic to that option. Although word endings are technically facts that cant be copyrighted, wikipedia is technically under a CC license. Long term think I want to end up with a dictionary and data set that is 100% fully public domain so that it can ...

Re: Biblical Greek Dictionary and Parsing Practice App (iOS)
Hi Stephen, Thanks for your feedback. I have set it up so it shows all endings that exist in the NT in black, and then for endings that are not in the NT, it attempts to infer what they should be. I am torn about this, the options are to leave those fields blank, or try to put in something that migh...

Biblical Greek Dictionary and Parsing Practice App (iOS)
I have been slowly working on my own free Biblical Greek Dictionary App that I can use to speedily look up words that I either don't know, or words that I vaguely know but are obscured due to the morphological form they appear in. 😀 I've been using the app to work through physical books and texts th...

This is great stuff. I did see it and found it an interesting idea. I can't imagine signing up for a reddit account, but I will be following and reading with interest.

This would be an amazing project to be involved in. Now if only I had a spare 20 hours per week.

Morphology of ζαω
My dictionary, and Accordance tell me that "I live" is 'ζαω', so one would expect it to decline like the left column below. But when I look at the LXX/NT it actually declines like the list on the right: ζῶ ζῶ ζᾷς ζῇς ζᾷ ζῇ ζῶμεν ζῶμεν ζᾶτε ζῆτε ζῶσιν ζῶσιν Is this a case of "languages...

Re: Needed - An Open, Trustworthy, Trusted Greek Text
The high similarity between the BGB and the NA is because the BGB is a work derived from the NA, more precisely, when it agrees with the SBLGNT, replacing the text of Nestle 1904. But the BGB is not derived from the NA is it? It's derived from the Nestle 1904 which is clearly now in the public doma...

Capitalisation of διαβόλος in Ephesians 6:11
I am not sure if this question is about the Greek definite article, usage of the article in English, or lack of understanding of church tradition. 😀 πρὸς τὸ δύνασθαι ὑμᾶς στῆναι πρὸς τὰς μεθοδείας τοῦ διαβόλου· Most translations translate "the devil", but HCSB stands out in translating it ...
