Matt 6:25: what clues are there that it is a question?
I definitely have a hard time knowing when a verse is a question - look at Matt 6:25 (I have put the part of the verse that is the question in larger font): Διὰ τοῦτο λέγω ὑμῖν, μὴ μεριμνᾶτε τῇ ψυχῇ ὑμῶν τί φάγητε [ἢ τί πίητε,] μηδὲ τῷ σώματι ὑμῶν τί ἐνδύσησθε: οὐχὶ ἡ ψυχὴ πλεῖόν ἐστιν τῆς τροφῆς κα...

Re: Are there any Greek online TV programs?
I find it hard to avoid laughing when they say ὅτι, which they pronounce "hottie". So I would probably call this "hottie Greek". You're killin' me!!! And that's EXACTLY how I use to pronounce ὅτι (what I was "told" was that omicron was pronounced like an "a" ...

Re: Are there any Greek online TV programs?
However, your example of omikron happens to be a place where Koine and modern are the same. Thanxs - I've always thought that Modern Greek speakers spoke omicron as an "a" sound. May be you could clear up a long standing misunderstanding I've had - I've heard many pastors, during their se...

Re: Are there any Greek online TV programs?
That's where I originally started looking - over at YouTube. I think I've "exhausted" the Koine Greek videos at YouTube. One nice video is of a guy reading 1John 1:5-9, another has 4 lessons on Koine Greek, and all kinds of videos on "here's how to pronounce the alphabet". I thin...

Are there any Greek online TV programs?
I was wondering if anybody could recommend a Greek online TV show - one that someone that was somewhere between beginner/intermediate might benefit from listening to? It could be anything, from a children's program, to a news broadcast, to a sports channel, but just something I could get to online. ...

Re: aorist active participle of προβάινω
I'm probably confused by all the 1st, 2nd, 3rd aorist active, but can you see where I'm going wrong on why I think it is a "-" ending versus a "ς". For a 1st aorist verb, we form the pt.aa.nsm as "aorist stem" + σα + ς (example: λυ + σα + ς) For a 2nd aorist verb, we fo...

Re: aorist active participle of προβάινω
Thanxs Stephen and Carl for the information! Whew, it is soooooooo difficult to keep all of this stuff straight! Since it is 2nd aorist active athematic, why is the ending ς ? When forming the aorist active participle, nom-sg-masc, isn't the ending used "-" ? προ + βα + ντ + - (which is pr...

Re: aorist active participle of προβάινω
Thanxs for the info David. It almost looks like it's acting like an athematic verb??? (i.e. something similar to a "ui" verb where it doesn't take a connecting vowel.) I thought the verb was 2nd aorist active (exactly like ἀναβαίνω is 2nd aorist active since the 1s is ἀνέβην) so the nom-sg...
