λεγω melding λεγω Coordination

Is anyone here familiar with Paul Danone’s work on λεγω melding and λεγω coordination?
I am not sure how he derives the notion of verbatim quotation?
"In λέγω melding, two or more verbs of communication in a phrase join to license the same Content complement, which typically is a verbatim quotation (+quo) realized either by a maximal verb phrase (clause) or by a maximal verb phrase introduced by ὅτι (ὅτι clause). Λέγω melding is restricted to verb phrases in which (1) a verb of communication is followed by λέγω or, on occasion, another verb of communication, (2) only one of the verbs is finite and the other[s] participial, (3) the verbs are not coordinated by a conjunction, and (4) only the last (melding) verb realizes the Content complement.
In λέγω coordination, two verbs of communication in a phrase join to license the same Content complement, which typically is +quo. Λέγω coordination occurs in verb phrases in which (1) a verb of communication is followed by λέγω or, on occasion, another verb of communication, (2) both verbs are finite or infinitival or participial, (3) the verbs are coordinated by a conjunction, usually καί (and), and (4) either the former or the latter verb may function as the coordinating verb that realizes the Content complement."
