Accentuation of contracted verbs

Post by Rossini »

Hello everybody,

According to the Perseus Greek Morphological Analysis, the form poiw with an acutus on the iota could be a 1st sing. ind. pres. act. of poeiw (http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/mor ... w&la=greek). I learned that this form should have a circumflex. Does anybody have some information on this form?

Thanks!

It should have a circumflex. I don't know why Perseus lists a paroxytone for this verb. Perhaps a dialectal form?
