Trivia: Most number of meanings and useages?

Post by Stephen Hughes »

Which words have the most number of meanings in the GNT?
Which verbs have the most number of useages in the GNT?

[If you want to try this one, you can reference whatever standard word that you want to to get the number from.]

A possible example might be:
  • ἑτοιμασία has 2 meanings (Thayer's Definition)
    • the act of preparing
    • the condition of a person or thing so far forth as prepared, preparedness, readiness
But of course a word with the most meanings will have more than 2.
Γελᾷ δ' ὁ μωρός, κἄν τι μὴ γέλοιον ᾖ
(Menander, Γνῶμαι μονόστιχοι 108)

Hey let me try this one! I think we talked on B-Greek about ΕΠΙ before. ;)

Isn't that "λεγειν" ("εν" (preposition) is 2nd and "ειναι" is 3rd)? Unless you mean with different senses, in which case how about "εχειν"?

But hmm I didn't reference any 'standard work'...
