Online Texts (Byzantine Majority; Westcott-Hort)

Post by Mindy »

Dear scholars,

Please help me finding online Texts (Byzantine Majority; Westcott-Hort).

There's an online Byzantine Majority Text from Prof. Maurice Robinson's site.

There's also an online Westcott-Hort Text prepared and edited by Prof. Robinson.

But the letters are a bit small.

Are there any other online resources?

Thank you all.

Here's a text: http://en.katabiblon.com/us/index.php?t ... ok=Mk&ch=3

This text includes Byzantine Majority version.

But it doesn't include Westcott-Hort version.

Thank you all.

Thank you, C. S. Bartholomew.

But this doesn't have pronunciation marks.

I want the texts look like these: http://www.greekbible.com/index.php or https://www.academic-bible.com/en/onlin ... 7f5e4bf11/

These two are not Byzantine Majority version or Westcott-Hort version.

I need to read these two versions as I listen to Prof. Robinson and Marilyn Phemister.

Here is one: https://newchristianbiblestudy.org/bibl ... 00/mark/3/

But neither does it have pronunciation marks. I will read the download text with pronunciation marks (Its letters are a bit small) first, then I'll read this one.

Thank you all.

Here's a text with pronunciation marks from Step Bible: https://www.stepbible.org/?q=version=SB ... nce=Matt.1

It's not Byzantine Majority version.

I can't tell whether it's Westcott-Hort version or not?

Thank you all.

It's the SBL Greek New Testament (SBLGNT).

By the way, for Greek we call those markings diacritics or "accents and breathing marks".

Thank you, Jonathan.

Here's a Westcott-Hort text (unaccented): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?s ... rsion=WHNU

This one has diacritics and includes both Westcott-Hort and Byzantine Majority versions in the footnotes: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?s ... ion=SBLGNT

Thank you, Randall.

But my English is not good. I am sorry for not quite understanding "not as they read when unreliable".

I have just been surprised to read a controversial article about Westcott and Hort, and about some of their belief.

Personally I disagree with them. I will not search for their text any more. I will only listen to the text for Greek's sake.

I am not sure about the Byzantine Majority version.

I want to delete some of my posts.

Thank you all.

In many places, the readings that you are using do not accent the correct syllables, and the timing and intonation do not always match the content and focus of the writings. Consequently, the readings may not always be helpful and are unreliable.

With most languages, a student would expect published readings to set a standard and to be an example of what a student can strive to achieve and from which a student may learn. These NT readings are a "level" of what a student needs to surpass.
