The Vatincanus Bible: Gospels

Post by nathaniel j. erickson »

Check out Ben Kantor's recently released pseudo-facsimile of the gospels from Codex Vaticanus

I received my copy a couple days ago and am very pleased with it. It is by far the nicest experience reading uncial manuscript text I have yet had. The text is a digital print from the facsimile photos of Codex Vaticanus that the Center for the Study of New Testament Manuscripts has. The book itself is pleasant looking, well-put together, and is conveniently portable. Just wanted to make people aware that this is out there. Especially for anyone wanting to make the jump into reading uncial manuscripts, this is pretty much the nicest possible way to start out that I am aware of (much easier than trying to decide if there is a missing section of the manuscript or part of the letter is missing from the blurry scan taken by once state of the art copying/photographing technology).

I wrote more of a review at ... vaticanus/
