Scholarship surrounding the standard varieties of Ancient Greek (Attic, the Koine, and Atticistic Greek) focused from its beginnings until relatively recently on the uniformity of these varieties —what united these forms of the language. However, with the development of new methodologies in both the fields of linguistics and literary studies, we are able to more finely examine the mechanics of these varieties and how different authors at different periods made use of them. This collection of essays examines a wide array of issues in the field with innovative methodologies and under-studied texts to cast new light on the fine distinction within these varieties
