Book Review: Myths and Mistakes in NT Textual Criticism

Post by Brent Niedergall »

Has anyone else read Hixson and Gurry's new edited volume on textual criticism? No matter your previous exposure to the discipline, this book is definitely worth reading. You can read my review here: https://niedergall.com/book-review-myth ... criticism/

My Sunday school class has been going through a series an apologetics right now. As I was reading this book, I could relate to how often the material written for the church uses incorrect and outdated information when it comes to the text of the NT. For that reason alone, I'm glad some folks stepped in to address the issue.

Nice, sounds like a good recommendation for lay people interested in the topic. "The" Kirsopp Lake, maybe not a typo!

Peter is a good friend and excellent scholar. I haven't seen the book yet, but I'm not surprised its being received positively.
