iPads seem to have the best support for Greek fonts, and of course you can get them with a very hi-res display.

I have a Windows Surface 3 Tablet. It's awesome. There is no difference today in polytonic support between iPad and its competitors. Android and Windows both support polytonic Greek fully.

Sounds like 6 and 1/2 dozen of the other, then...

I'm simply been one to avoid Apple at all costs (and Apple's costs are high!). I currently use a Windows tablet and an Android phone. My phone cost me $230 rather than Apple's $800, and my tablet was $450 (plus $50 for the awesome Surface pen!) in comparison to the thousand plus that Apple wants for an iPad. I don't feel the prices are justified at all. Maybe I'm just a cheapskate.

I think so. I do fine with my Android tablet and Android phone. But it's good to have an up-to-date version of Android, the early ones did not do well.
