CNTR Greek Character Utility

Post by Alan Bunning »

Because of the Unicode problem I brought up in this thread “Oxia vs tonos accent” viewtopic.php?f=25&t=4170, I decided to bite the bullet and write my own program to help me get a handle on the problem. Right now it is at https://greekcntr.org/tools/greekchar.htm, but I may end up moving the URL sometime in the future. Feel free to use it yourselves. The “Normalize” and “Transform” buttons help me deal with the problem discussed, but there are some other features too and a minimal online help page. It is designed to work with most of the newer browsers, but let me know if you find any bugs, or if you can think of any features to add.

Is there a corresponding command-line tool?
ἐξίσταντο δὲ πάντες καὶ διηποροῦντο, ἄλλος πρὸς ἄλλον λέγοντες, τί θέλει τοῦτο εἶναι;

No, it is just an on-line web-based tool written in javascript.

It should be trivial to turn it into a command-line tool using Node JS as an interpreter.
