Blessings to All,
I had a question concerning
1 Corinthians 4:15
For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.
My question is in regards to fathers, in particular to this greek word for many "polys". The Bible says you can have many teachers but few fathers.
Has anyone studied this word in greek to determine how many is polys?
4? 5? 6? Does Polys begin at 7? Our north american mindset thinks of the word "several"...and that cpuld mean many...however, other passages speaks of Polys at a multitude... but in english Many can mean several..ore more...10 or more... 20 or more... you see what I am getting at...
Does anyone have examples of Polys in use, showing where few becomes many?
When I think of few i think of 2, 3, 4... and many as 10 or higher...
But I am north american and I need to understand the context of Apostle Paul under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
So my question essentially is, "When does Polys become Polys?" Is there a number? Or an example in the NT or outside we can see?
