ETC: Where Orthography Affects the New Testament Text

Post by Eeli Kaikkonen »

Evangelical Textual Criticism blog has interesting article about a subject every NT Greek student bumps into sooner or later: are our critical texts affected by (linguistic) interpretation when the "original" text didn't have spaces between words, punctuation and accents (and had different spelling)?

This is really cool. And another great example of useful open data for biblical studies.

Have people here been using the Amsterdam Database of New Testament Conjectural Emendation? What is it most useful for?

I know the INTF's New Testament Virtual Manuscript Room uses it. See http://ntvmr.uni-muenster.de/nt-conjectures

Supported by an EU grant.

Yes. Most useful for historical insights on the exegetical difficulties of a passage.
