I am surprised the English word "aeon" had not been mentioned yet in the discussion as a suitable placeholder for the Greek αιων. Probably just my ignorance would see it as relevant... The corresponding article in Wikipedia is at the least rather entertaining https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aeon
